An Event Security Engineer and Material Handler I has the primary responsibility of ensuring that the event security equipment arrives at on time, and that the customer is satisfied with equipment performance. This is an entry level position that will require basic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and the ability to think independently and operate with minimal instruction. In this position you can expect up to 75% travel (domestic). It is not uncommon to incur work days in excess of 8 hours during events. Tasks that will routinely be performed include equipment installation and teardown, maintenance, troubleshooting, security staff training, and logistic support.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform equipment installation and teardown of all event security equipment, primarily Walk Through Metal Detectors, e.g. Metor 6 WP.
• Perform service and maintenance for all event security equipment, as requested by the Event Security Manager.
• Assists in security staff training in support of event security projects.
• Works with the Event Security Manager to ensure event security is performed in accordance with the contractual terms and the satisfaction of the customer.
• Prepares event security equipment for shipment.
• Loading and unloading of shipments using a forklift.
• Set-up and organization of event security equipment inventory within warehouse.

• It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
• Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Travel Requirements:

• Possess the willingness and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally up to 75%
• Work independently to plan and arrange travel accommodations within Company guidelines
• Possess the flexibility and capability to deal with sudden changes (i.e. customer schedules, flight delays, on site weather delays etc.)
• Focus on costs savings by planning and arranging travel accommodations as soon as practical
• Maintain and organize expense receipts while in the field and work independently to manage administrative tasks, including the timely submission of expenses and other administrative reporting as required
• Maintain valid passport and credit card as required to support business travel
• Understand and comply with company travel policy
• Ability to pass company background checks, and maintain good standing

• A.S. in Electronic Technology or Engineering with Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Technical degree or, demonstrable mechanical ability and knowledge.
  • Previous experience may be substituted for the Technical Degree.
  • Basic knowledge / skills of Analog, Digital, and Mechanical systems.
• Minimum 2 years experience.
• Comprehensive knowlegde of logistics and transportation.
• Experience managing Freight Forwarders and in-bound carriers.
• Warehouing / Inventory Control System experience preferred.
• Miniumum 2 years of experiense operating a fork lift in a warehouse required.
• Forklift certification preferred (OSHA certification preferred).
• Ability to effectively manage technical, operational, and administrative functions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Must be able to work independently and make logical decisions within position parameters based upon S2 Event Security guidelines.
