    OSI Optoelectronics is seeking an In-Process Inspector to perform inspection of manufacturing goods during the manufacturing process. This position conducts dimensional inspection of sub-assemblies or final systems assemblies, as well as interprets prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards and lists in approving or rejecting in-process or final assemblies.

    Responsibilities

    • Review product lot travelers, logs, and production records for completion and accurate traceability.
    • Utilizing a microscope, verify that various product measurements of item characteristics, such as dimensions, angles, centering, etc., are accurate per the customer requirements. Once tested, complete required inspection documentation per Company standards.            
    • Perform testing of parts for bond strength, die shear, window shear and fine/ gross leak test.
    • Perform First Article review and create technical reports with the dimensional and test information per Company, industry, and/or customer requirements.
    • Participate in the auditing of internal processes and assists in corrective action system follow up as needed.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • 4+ years of manufacturing inspection work experience in a production environment.
    • Basic knowledge of techniques for assuring product quality and a keen attention to detail.
    • Fluency with fractions, decimals, angles, dates and percentages, and AQL sample size determination.
    • Ability to read drawings\blue prints and drawing dimensional call-outs and identify associated inspection techniques
    • Understanding of microelectronic inspection concepts and tool sets with ability to inspect simple assemblies and components with minimal guidance
    • ­­­Competence with measuring tools (e.g., optical measurement microscope, calipers, pin gage, comparator, microscope reticle, digital multi-meter) and test tools (e.g., die shear, wire bond pull, hermeticity test)
    • Required dexterity and preciseness with a microscope for long periods of time.
    • Basic knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485
    • Soldering inspection experience required. IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 soldering inspection certification preferred.
    • Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
    • Ability to train other employees as needed.
    • Ability to pass: Visual Acuity testing that meet the Snellen 20/20 test chart or equivalent with at least one eye, (natural or corrected); near testing per Jaeger Eye Chart, (Jaeger J1 at not less than 14 inches / 35.5 cm), and Color Vision – Ishihara’s Test 14 Plate Book (distinguish and differentiate between red, green, blue and yellow at a minimum as prescribed in Dvorine Charts, Ishihara Plates, or AO-HRR Test)
    • Must be able to read, write, and verbally effectively communicate in the business language (English).
    • Working knowledge of computer basic skills and Microsoft Office. Manufacturing inventory software knowledge, a plus.
