    Advanced Photonix, a division of OSI Optoelectronics, is seeking a Quality Engineer to define, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Support the development and implementation of quality related procedures/policies, work instructions, and inspection planning in accordance with ISO9001, AS9100, or other industry standards requirements.
    • Facilitate root cause/corrective action investigations, direct failure analysis, and implement closed-loop corrective action to improve processes and systems.
    • Monitor and perform audits of outside suppliers.
    • Monitor progress on key metrics and address risks in order to achieve established goals.
    • Review and approve Quality and Process Specifications, Process Instructions, etc. in support of customer driven requirements.
    • Maintain and monitor quality performance (cost of quality, rejections, reworks, non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive actions, etc.).
    • Interact with customers (external and internal) relating to processing of quality rejections, reworks non-conformance, corrective actions, etc.
    • Support inspection through development, review, and approval of first article reports in accordance with AS9102.
    • Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.

    • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
    • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or combination of education and experience.
    • 2+ years in a quality engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
    • Thorough understanding of problem solving methods, i.e. RCCA, 8D, 5Y and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
    • Knowledge of statistical packages and Microsoft Office Suite required.
    • Interact with customers (external and internal) relating to processing of quality rejections, reworks non-conformance, corrective actions, etc.
    • Competence with typical inspection and measuring devices.
    • Quality Engineering experience and ASQ Certified Quality Engineer desired.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
    • Must be able to read, write, and verbally effectively communicate in the business language (English).
