    Advanced Photonix, a division of OSI Optoelectronics, is seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing to lead and direct the overall Sales and Marketing Strategy of the Division to achieve sustainable sales growth. Directs the Regional Sales Managers and the Inside Sales group. Develop marketing reports and strategies to support Divisional objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
    • Define the division marketing strategy, through advertising and market research to aid in strategic planning and areas of future interest. Advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques. Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
    • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates. Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
    • Represents Company at trade association meetings to promote product. Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
    • Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
    • Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications
    • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. In cooperation with the Director of Engineering define product research and development activities.
    • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
    • Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work. Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.

    • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
    • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA degree or higher; Master degree Prefered; or equivalent five to ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Five to 10 years in sales for a company or industry relevant to the semiconductor, electronics or photonic industry
    • Strong understanding of all aspects of business management
    • Strong understanding of Optical sensors and custom devices
    • Demonstrated experience in developing marketing strategies
    • Computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Word , Excel and Powerpoint
    • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written required
    • Engineering and Operations background a plus
    • Up to 50% travel required
