  • Overview

    Rapiscan Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OSI Systems, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as, airports, border crossings, railway stations, sea ports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities.

               

    Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies developmental and production electronic components and parts for x-ray inspection equipment and systems according to blueprints and other specifications.

    Responsibilities

    • Operates hand tools (regular and powered), such as drill or hand held grinder, to modify and prepare housings for installations. May use fittings, jigs, and fixtures and may use measuring tools to verify dimensions.
    • Assembles wires, insulation, and electrical components such as resistors and capacitors, following method layouts.
    • Installs electrical assemblies and hardware in housing.
    • Tests assembled instruments for circuit continuity and operational reliability.
    • Analyzes test results and repairs or adjusts instruments according to analysis.
    • Records test results in a standard format.
    • May issue CPAR (Corrective Preventative Action Request) for any non-compliance reviews and corrects any non-conformances as noted on the Re-work Sheet provided by QA.
    • Calibrates instruments according to specifications.

    • It is the responsibility of every Rapiscan Systems employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
    • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

    Qualifications

    • Associate's Degree or equivalent vocational training in Electronics preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic and electromechanical subsystems, PCBs, and computer and networking hardware desired.
    • Must be knowledgeable in Electronics and able to read schematics and mechanical drawings as required in building prototypes.
    • Proven track record of performing within tight schedules with minimal supervision.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen, as required by our contract with the US Government.
