    American Science and Engineering, an OSI Systems Company is seeking an E/M Assembler in its Billerica, MA Facility.

    Responsibilities

    You will be performing a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical production assembly and subassembly operations on complex capital equipment.  You will build and test baggage inspection for airports, container inspection for ports and mobile inspection vehicles for boarders and special events. 

    As a highly skilled specialist, you will complete complex tasks in creative and effective ways with very few errors. You need to be enthusiastic and self-motivate, and work well with others in a team with little supervision.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma and 5+ years of manufacturing experience, the ability to act independently and mentor and guide others. (Level determined by years of experience; Level 1 = 0-1 years experience, Level 2 = 2-4 years experience, Level 3 = 5-7 years experience, Level 4 = 7+ years experience).
    • Experience performing a wide range of electromechanical assembly with demonstrated skill cabling systems, connecting and torqueing large (x-ray) assemblies and/or up-fitting Daimler and International trucks for mobile (x-ray application) products. 
    • Experience/ ability to perform customizations in vehicles.
    • Experience working on complex capital equipment.
    • Hydraulic experience.
    • Assembly will require use of online manufacturing documentation, following sequenced online instruction, and maintaining production record books on-line.
    • Knowledge of bills of materials (BOM) structure and ability to read and interpret assembly and schematic diagrams required.
    • Ability lift up to 30 pounds and work on vehicles and on large gantry structures required. Must stand for 6+ hours per day.
    • Prior capital equipment field service or field installation technician experience desired.
    • Experience rigging heavy objects preferred.
