    The Engineering Test Technician supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.

    Responsibilities

    • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
    • Plans details of working procedure to determine material or replacement needs and determines a logical approach to repair problems
    • Recognize, document and correct failures and set-up problems encountered during testing to include customer returns
    • Responsible for all documentation relating to job function.
    • Read and interpret various types of documentation such as procedures, schematics, drawings, etc.
    • Test and verify proper operation of component systems.
    • Update parts lists and schematics for all products as needed
    • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area
    • Perform other duties, as required.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrate knowledge of standard test equipment (i.e. oscilloscope, multi-meters, etc.)
    • Associates degree in Electronics or equivalent
    • Ability to troubleshoot assemblies to the component level
    • Attention to detail is critical
    • Hand dexterity, a plus
    • Teamwork ability, a MUST!
