Rapiscan Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OSI Systems, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems is seeking a hands-on R&D Engineer with experience in design and development of software and firmware for data acquisitions systems to work in our Longmont, Colorado location.  

Responsibilities

  • Software development in C/C++, C#, Java
  • Support existing firmware as well as develop firmware for new products
  • Provide product requirements and design documentation
  • Participate in full product development cycle

  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • B.S. (EE, Computer Science or similar) or eight years relevant experience and 5 years work experience OR Associates degree combined with 8 years relevant experience preferred.

  • Experience in at least one of the following languages: C/C++, C#, Java

  • Experience prototyping and building proof of concept hardware
  • Experience drafting requirements, testing, and test documentation
  • Experience in designing and debugging multi-threaded applications
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server)
  • Software development on Linux and Windows platforms 
  • Design knowledge of Analog, Digital, mixed-signal processing and low noise circuits
  • Experience with Microcontrollers (Atmel, Intel), FPGAs (Xilinx, Altera), PIC, DSP and PLDs
  • Embedded programming in C/C++ for DSP, Microcontrollers, FPGA and SBC  
  • Experience with HMI (Human Machine Interface) UI development
  • Must be US Citizen, as required by our contract with the US Government
  • Must have the ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance
