OSIO's Laser Diode division is seeking a qualified assembler. Wires, solders and assembles microscopic components to make subassemblies or assemblies for laser systems and fiber optics products. Testing the final product to see if it meets specification; in accordance with customer specification sheet, established procedures and/or specific instructions.

Responsibilities

Must have excellent solderings skills and handling techniques for sensitive, complex components and product placement using a microscope.

 

  • Telecom Group:

    Hybrid Assembly for receiver fibler optic products. Good handling techniques for sensitive, complex components.  Fiber assemblies - attaching ferrules to prepared optical fibers and coaxial products.  Filing out travelers and entering data in computer spread sheets. 

  • High Power Group:  Testing and characterizing TO laser assemblies for power and wavelength.  Loading and unloading laser burn-in racks.  Boxing TO laser components for shipping to customers.  Ink branding, epoxy backfilling of optoelectrics.  Filing out travelers and entering data in computer spread sheets.
  • Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must be available and flexible to work a 2nd shift or extended work schedule.

 

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma
  • Experience in intricate hand assembly on paced assembly line.
  • Handling of small electronic devices
  • Handling of fibers and fiber products
  • Handling of small hand held tools
  • Some soldering skills experience
  • excellent hand/eye coordination and manual dexity
  • Excellent Attendance record
  • Open, enter data and close files on computer program
  • Gloves and/or finger cots required in assembly work. 
  • Must be a US Citizen, as required by our contract with the US Government.

 

HAZARDS Exposure REQUIRED:

  • Required to work with chemicals such as acids, solvents, and gases in a controlled area using established safety standards.
