JOB SUMMARY:

This role will touch on all aspects of Supply Chain including Planning, Procurement, Materials Management and Logistics. This is an exciting, fast-paced, and a key contributor position responsible for delivering measurable contributions and value to the company’s supply chain initiatives.

Initial focus will be on analyzing Rapiscan’s consolidated spend across all products and identifying opportunities to optimize procurements costs within specific material commodities/categories. Initial commodity focus will be on PCBAs, Cable Assemblies, Custom Mechanical and Consumables.

 

Responsibilities

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, cost modeling, financial evaluation and spend management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and objectives and respond quickly to purchasing / planning support requests from the company overall.
  • Negotiate changes and other terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best return at the most cost effective prices possible while retaining quality specifications.
  • New Products / Product Developments: full involvement specifically with engineering, project management and sales departments on the evaluation of new and existing materials and their successful integration to the production end of the business.
    Maintain working professional relationships with all assigned suppliers.
  • Identify new suppliers; negotiate supply agreements and terms, including discount structures and volume rebates.
    Negotiate pricing with suppliers and NPI Costing.
  • Responsible for taking corrective action to eliminate non-performing vendors.
  • Prepare RFQ’s and negotiate cost, delivery and lead-times with suppliers. 
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities, indentify and execute offshore component reduction opportunities.
  • Foster close working relationships with internal cross-functions such as Product Management, Engineering, Quality and Operations.
  • Measure and manage purchasing cost, delivery and quality performance activities.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
    Coordinate and perform factory visits or audits for key suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in supply chain practices preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a purchasing or commodity management highly desired.
  • 5 years of ERP / MRP experience, knowledge of Microsoft Navision a plus.
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional follow-up skills with internal cross-functions and purchasing team.
  • Experience of outsourcing to low cost countries an advantage.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience in leading collaborative teams.
  • Must be US Persons based on ITAR definition (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)**This position is expected to be exposed to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
