To ensure the effectiveness and development of the Quality Management System. To provide the Quality lead in New Product Introduction and engineering development of existing products. To design and carry out validation and acceptance testing of products. The role will include resolution of customer complaints and major issues through root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions. Reporting of KPI’s on internal quality measures which will include customer complaints, commissioning and service trending for reliability and quality issues.

Responsibilities

 

Provide general support to the QA department in all quality-related matters.

  • Quality representative in the New Product Introduction (NPI) design and development and Engineering Change Order processes.
  • Ensure that the quality requirements are defined, documented and implemented as defined by the NPI and Engineering Change Order process.
  • Ensure that critical to quality items are defined, documented and controlled.
  • Provide Quality Plans, Control Plans and input into product verification and validation plans. When required APQP, input into DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Provide direction for Quality Inspectors and Technicians to ensure quality requirements are being met.
  • Provide training and direction for operations personnel on quality standards
  • Investigate the root cause of quality related problems and bring about appropriate corrective actions and improvements. Generate minutes/action plans from Product Quality Team meetings
  • Perform internal audits and manage any corrective actions that arise.
  • Provide KPI’s to trend Quality performance in CAPA, Customer complaints, equipment performance/faults (RMA) and installation and servicing operations.
  • Assist in the management all instances of non-conformance through to completion of corrective and preventive action.
  • Assist in the review of contracts and generation of contract specific acceptance and validation test plans. Carry out test plans prior to Internal Validation Testing and with customer witnessed Final Acceptance Testing either at the Stoke facility or on occasion at the customer site.
  • Advise on the applicability of statutory and regulatory requirements. 

Qualifications

  • Must have a positive proactive attitude to work, be self motivated, and have good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
  • 3-5 years experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Manager in an Engineering Environment (preferably automotive or aerospace)
  • Experience with New Product Introduction responsibilities desirable.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100 and ISO14001 standards also desirable
  • Trained Auditor to ISO9000
  • Higher National Diploma or Degree in Engineering/Science discipline.
  • Proficient at interpreting Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Drawings.
  • Clean Driving Licence.
  • Lean and or Six Sigma experience would be an advantage.
