The Material Handler will provide support in respect to Stores to include booking in, kitting, distribution and inventory control of stock, supporting the Store’s Manager. S/he will work collaboratively with other departments, including: planning, production and procurement to deliver to lean manufacturing objectives and customer demand.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and inspecting incoming deliveries.
  • Booking and locating materials into the stock management system.
  • Controlled issue of stock
  • Picking material kits for project and production assembly teams
  • Control and monitoring of stock movements using Navision
  • Maintenance of FIFO principles
  • Maintenance of Kanban system
  • Cyclic counting
  • Loading and unloading of goods using fork lift trucks
  • Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.

  • Counter balance and reach FLT trained, holding current certificates

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in stores environment, covering goods inward, picking, packing and despatch.
  • Experience of working with computerized stock management system is essential.
  • Methodical and accurate record keeping
  • Able to integrate well into an established team supporting and assisting colleagues
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook an advantage
  • Counter balance and reach FLT trained, holding current certificates

  • knowledge of Navision useful but not essential

  • Hold a current UK driving licence
