Position Overview


OSI Electronics is experiencing rapid expansion and transforming into a large enterprise. We require a Head of Operations to help take us to the next level.  The ideal person for this position will come from an Electronics Manufacturing background and has successfully taken a business through growth phases. The Head of Operations will provide management leadership to drive the business and with full responsibility of running the EMS division and for all departments including the success of the entire team, setting business goals and objectives, people management, strategic/operational functions along with budget requirements.



  • Direct the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Prioritise production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets.
  • Make budgetary recommendations and at higher levels, controls capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
  • Develop schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Accountable for developing, implementing and reporting key performance metrics for the UK Operations that are tied to corporate financial and operational goals for the business, including but not limited to annual, quarterly and monthly revenue shipment, inventory values, on time delivery for factory and by customer, budget and margin targets, for the business and by customer, including maintaining margin per order.
  • Work closely with OSIE’s LCM businesses to support any product transfers and or production efforts supporting the UK business. In addition meeting all scheduled commitments for new product development and release into production.
  • Provide input into sales proposals.
  • Work in collaboration with the General Manager in meeting customer/supplier expectations.
  • Implement streamlined processes establishing partnering relationships with seamless links to production/operation requirements.
  • Drive acceptable inventory control/management practices throughout the business whilst meeting agreed customer commitments without sacrificing quality.
  • Manage and train appropriate skilled staff to improve and develop the organization into a world class contract manufacturing operation with clear focus on meeting customer deliverables and achieving corporate business goals/objectives for the business.
  • Develop and manage master production schedule and operations budgets for products that directly support and ensure product success
  • Establish strategy and best practices for staff to ensure achieving of overall business objectives.
  • Responsible for developing the appropriate organizational structure and resource plans to support our business objectives and customer deliverables.  
  • Responsible for facilities, resource planning and execution of business objectives for the including implementation of required processes and controls. 
  • Responsible for driving operational efficiencies, with a clear focus on delivering to customer expectation within budget and on schedule – while meeting and exceeding product margin goals.
  • Proactively engage/work with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, quality, commercial and service departments to incorporate best practices into the operations environment.  
  • Drive the development and effective use of key metrics to track and manage operations performance and ensure they are in sync with overall company goals.

  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem

  • Demonstrated experience in growing capability of a site, cost control, product cost reductions and margin improvements
  • Extensive experience in operational management in a fast paced high technology, rapidly expanding organisation
  • Excellent people management skills, across various functional areas, to achieve common goals
  • Proven track record and ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve business successes
  • Great understanding of commercial business elements, with focus on performance measures.
  • Ability to set up processes and controls for various business functions
  • Working knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex network of relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent understanding of manufacturing concepts, project management, planning and inventory control.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, excellent formal and informal communication with periodic presentations and reports to senior management.
  • Either performing a postion at this level or ready make step up from Production Manager level or similar.


OSI Systems, Inc. has three operating divisions: (a) Security, providing security and inspection systems, turnkey security screening solutions and related services; (b) Healthcare, providing patient monitoring, diagnostic cardiology and anesthesia systems; and (c) Optoelectronics and Manufacturing, providing specialized electronic components and electronic manufacturing services for original equipment manufacturers with applications in the defense, aerospace, medical and industrial markets, among others.
