Overview

With more than 30 years of combined experience in the field of optoelectronics our OSI Optoelectronics (OSIO) division is a diversified manufacturer of standard and custom photodiodes and optical sensors for used in aerospace, defense, commercial and medical applications.

 

The Manager, Global Trade Compliance of OSI’s OptoElectronics Division will be responsible for ensuring compliance with global trade regulations as well as introducing best practices to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization. This will include enhancing procedures, managing automated systems, identifying licensing strategies, and partnering with internal customers to meet regulatory requirements while increasing efficiencies.

The Manager will oversee licensing and compliance at the division level and will team with Trade Compliance staff at other divisions and Corporate to standardize processes across the Company. This position requires a true self-starter who can proactively collaborate with personnel in multiple organizations and locations. 

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Act as Empowered Official for division
  • Serve as a primary interface to USG on licensing and compliance matters
  • Obtain and manage Department of State licenses (DSP-5’s, DSP-73’s and DSP-61’s)
  • Obtain and manage Department of Commerce licenses
  • Manage key processes including denied party screening, travel and visitor management, training and recordkeeping
  • Lead automation projects
  • Perform Commodity Jurisdiction reviews and classification
  • Maintain product matrix
  • Perform site audits and process audits
  • Stay abreast of regulatory issues and policy changes affecting the business
  • Uphold the Company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct. 
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years trade compliance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience designing and implementing trade compliance processes
  • Experience using OCR/EASE strongly preferred
  • Experience using SNAP-R, D-Trade
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret level DoD security clearance
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to travel (domestic/international), approx. 10%
